Delivering Tax Technology Solutions with SQL 2012

For those of you who don’t know for the past couple of years I’ve been focusing on creating our services around Tax Technology using the latest Microsoft technologies. Our fiscal year ends at the end of this month and thinking back I’m happy to say that last year was a very productive year. The Solution Center that I run was able to launch several services and solutions for the Tax world. Some of the solutions we rolled out to our clients are Tax Operations Manager, Tax Data Warehouse Service, Data Import and Set-Up Service, Corporate Tax Reporting (ITRS), Tax Community of Interest Site, Transfer Pricing Integration Manager (TPiM), Audit Manager, Tax Operations Manager for Live Events, and Tax Development Service which are all compatible with SQL Server 2012 and sit on SharePoint.

Even though SharePoint was the core foundation, SQL 2012 was a very critical part of all of these solutions. We’re leveraging all aspects of SQL 2012 from Integration Services to Analysis Services to Reporting Services. We’re leveraging Data Quality services and Master Data Services. Tabular BISMs are a core part of our architecture which allows us to quickly create new models for our Tax clients. BI with SQL 2012 is just pure fun to work with. My team was very happy with what we could accomplish very limited budget and time. As always after a long year of developing on SQL 2012 I’m putting together series of blogs, content and presentations.  I’m looking forward to getting back to the presenting world and connecting with all of you.

Having said that I’m super excited to let you know that my next session will be the  SharePoint Fest – D.C. 2013  August 5-7 – Bethesda North Marriott Conference Center http://www.sharepointfest.com/DC/.
