I’m pretty excited about SharePoint Saturday Virginia Beach 2011. Last year around this time I met a lot of great people in this event and this year I look forward meeting all of you who are coming to the event this weekend. This year I’ll be representing West Monroe Partners and I’ll be speaking on Records Management and Workflows. Click Here to see the schedule!
This was my second time at Kansas City and I had a blast. Got to see most of my friends I haven’t seen in a long time and let Matt Bremmer and Todd Kitta beat me at darts so we could get some sleep
I also would like to thank those of you who joined my SharePoint 2010 Records Management session. Thank you for listening and asking some good questions. Here is my slide deck from the SPSKC session.
Thank you to all of you who attended my Records Management Session at SharePointSaturday Chicago. It was a great group and I enjoyed your questions. As you heard me discuss in my session Records Management is not a new thing but we usually tend to forget about it whe nwe deploy SharePoint.
eDiscovery and Hold seems to be a very popular trend these days and for that to work in SharePoint you need a good records management setup and for a good records management policy you need to really define your content types and metadata/ taxonomy really well. I know it’s a chain reaction but when you’re planning your steering committees and talking about designing your taxonomy please don’t forget about Records Management.
